The Blue C Community and Demonstration Garden is located at 1968 11th Street in Los Osos, CA. The garden sits on land in a watershed that drains directly into the biologically sensitive wetlands of Morro Bay in San Luis Obispo County, CA.
We provide space for community members to grow their own food using organic gardening methods and offer free classes and demonstrations. We promote and teach ocean-friendly garden practices to help protect our wetlands and wildlife habitat.
The Blue C Community and Demonstration Garden has 15 plots available for community members. A minimal fee of $60 a year helps offset garden costs including water, insurance, and soil.
If you are interested in putting your green thumb to work by growing your own food, please contact our garden manager, Nadia Brenner, at (805) 548-0597 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our free Saturdays in the Garden education program runs during the spring, summer, and early fall. Guest presenters cover a wide variety of topics including organic gardening, seed saving, natural bug repellants, growing medicinal herbs, and preserving and pickling. We wrap up with an organic vegetable soup cook-off in the fall. Everyone in San Luis Obispo County is welcome to participate in these free events.
