HomeShare SLO: changing lives, connecting people & homes
HomeShareSLO is a local nonprofit whose facilitated matching program brings together people with an extra room in their home and residents seeking affordable housing. Your donation helps us with screening costs and staff costs for in person client services. Our services include background screening of applicants and help with setting up ground rules and leases. A spare bedroom can bring in $6,500-12,000 per year in added income, plus provide companionship and social connection.
What a great month we had in November! Some of the highlights:
- We welcomed 15 new clients (bringing the year-end total to 89)
- Presented to community groups in SLO, Atascadero and Cambria
- Hosted our first movie night with over 30 people attending
- Received our own stand-alone nonprofit tax-exempt status

Our monthly informal meeting of folks interested in homesharing as a housing solution meets the first Wednesday of each month. Seeking housing? Thinking about renting your spare bedroom?
