Protest Song Songwriting Contest Winners

Announcing the winners of our Protest Song Songwriting Contest!

Maria Woodson took the top $1,000 prize with her beautiful song “Daffodils,” inspired by a Dorothy Wadsworth poem and journal. Bloom’s “Earth Child” and Noach Tangeras’s “Buffalo Don’t Roam” were the runners up, and each receive a $200 prize.

Thank you to all our contestants – it was a tough choice for our three judges, Jon Stebbins, author, journalist and pop music historian, Glen Starkey. music writer and critic for New Times and Steve Crimmel, veteran Los Angeles recording engineer and owner of Painted Sky Studios in Cambria.
