Social justice book club at HumanKind Fair Trade

Row of Books

You probably already knew that HumanKind carries a wonderful selection of social justice-themed books. From Nicholas Kristof’s Half The Sky, to Tracy Kidder’s Mountains Beyond Mountains, you can always find a book that will spark an interest in global issues and a desire to bring about justice for those who are often overlooked by the rest of the world. In addition to just reading these books, why don’t you go a step further and join a group that gets together to talk through the issues they are reading about?

This is exactly what HumanKind’s Social Justice Book Club was created for! We want to process our thoughts together and inspire each other work toward creating justice in our world. We read one book a month, and always meet on the last Wednesday of the month for our discussion. We have some openings in the group right now, so contact LynAnne if you are interested in joining. Call the store at (805) 594-1220 or just drop by the store to pick up the current book and get yourself on our Book Club email list!

Upcoming discussions:  Strength in What Remains by Tracy Kidder, April 30, 6:30 p.m.; In the Sea There are Crocodiles by Fabio Geda, May 28, 6:30 p.m.
