Don’t miss out on the exciting return of the Central Coast Bioneers Conference October 4-5 at the Octagon Barn in SLO.  This year our program has expanded to two days.  On Friday October 4 we will feature speakers and films on environmental and climate issues, including National Bioneers keynotes Erica Geis on the slow water movement, Merlin Sheldrake on how fungi make our worlds, and Sage Lenier on a blueprint for a green economy.  Local speakers include NASA scientist Susan Callery on climate change from space, author Tom Bowman on his book “What if Solving the Climate Crisis Is Simple?” and Kara Woodruff on reaching 30×30 on the Central Coast.  Featured films include a screening of Patagonia’s “Undammed: Amy Bowers Cordalis and the fight to free the Klamath” and artist Beatie Wolf’s short film “Trees and Seas” which was filmed locally.  Don Maruska will lead us in a workshop on how to enjoy being a climate solver.

Saturday, October 5 will be social justice day, featuring National Bioneers keynote speakers Dolores Huerta on organizing for justice, Stacy Mitchell on democracy vs. Big Tech, and Corrina Gould on rematriation of tribal lands.  Local speakers include author Esha Chhabra on her book “Working to Restore: Harness the Power of Regenerative Business to Heal the World,” Gwen Loeb, founder of World Builders Institute, on using entertainment to speed the pace of progress, and Cal Poly student Emma Lee Daniel on nature-based solutions for urban injustice.
