You have plans for next weekend!

The Tiny Footprint Expo, hosted by Smartshare Housing Solutions with help from Ecologistics and the SLO Climate Coalition, will take place Friday-Sunday, October 11-13 at the Madonna Meadow.  There will be something for everyone at this amazing event.

A $75 VIP ticket gets you into the whole weekend, including kickoff event starting at 3:00 Friday afternoon with a policy seminar on tiny homes followed by snacks, wine and tours of the tiny homes that will be on display.  The keynote speaker is Eli Spavek, who has been developing affordable housing communities in Oregon for over 20 years, starting as a volunteer construction supervisor with Habitat for Humanity. In 2006, he launched Orange Splot, LLC to build new models of community-oriented, affordable, green housing development.

Saturday and Sunday events are $8 for the day in advance and $10 at the door.  There will be two tracks operating simultaneously in two tents on site.  One tent is devoted to tiny house topics such as financial benefits, the design process, how to build one yourself, how to live off the grid, downsizing to fit into a tiny home and tiny house villages.  The second tent is on sustainability in action and will feature speakers on zero waste lifestyle, zero waste food production, decarbonizing your home, sustainable mobility, community choice energy, green careers and a youth climate activism panel.  Click here for more information and here to purchase tickets.
