SLO Beaver Festival was a huge success!
This past weekend The SLO Beaver Brigade held its Third Annual Beaver Festival. I personally worked the welcome booth, getting to greet many excited visitors. The weekend was filled with Beaver Lovers and visitors who were all learning about SLO’s beavers for the very first time. Additionally, Ecologistics’ very own Stacey Hunt monitored our booth with a special exhibit for our Salinas River Center.
If you happen to stop by downtown, you would have gotten to see two potential models(pictured below) for the River Center. These models were created by two amazing Cal Poly Architectural Design majors. For more than a few years now Ecologistics has been working with the SLO Beaver Brigade to create a River Center at the Salinas River. Recently, our goal becamse more feasible, which lefts us searching for a model vision of the River Center. If you weren’t able to join us at the SLO Beaver Festival this weekend, take a look at the image to the right and envision what the future Salinas River Center might look like.
On the other side of things, SLO Beaver Festival was an absolute success. Keynote speaker Molly Alves from the California Department for Fish and Wild life took charge of the educational festival. She was accompanied by Sophia Marquez, Grant Johnson, and Cooper Lienhart who all discussed the significance of Beavers in our San Luis Obispo Community. At minimum, over 3000 attended the festival, but we are still waiting to hear back from The SLO Beaver Brigade on the exact number.
If you didn’t get the chance to stop by or want the chance to see a real life beaver, the SLO Beaver Brigade will still be hosting their water walks. Check out their itinerary here.
