Big news for local filmmaker
Brittany App’s labor of love and debut documentary Where There Once Was Water, has secured educational distribution through a partnership with EPF Media. EPF Media is a distributor and producer of innovative documentaries from around the world that educate and raise awareness of social issues, cultures and the arts. EPF Media is committed to releasing films that inspire people and bring positive change to our communities.
“Educational distribution has been a dream goal,” said Brittany. “A distributor who cares about the issues, and who knows how to get this story out into world, and in front of as many eyeballs as possible… well, that’s just pure magic.”
Brittany reports that sales to libraries are going really well, with over 400 DVDs sold already, across the US & Canada. Further distribution will include universities, colleges, schools, and nonprofits. There is an official Study Guide, Press Kit, and a DVD. Interested persons can schedule a screening, purchase public performance rights, or get their own copy of the DVD at www.epfmedia.com/where-there-once-was-water.
Where There Once Was Water premiered at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival in 2021 and has been accepted at film festivals all over the world. It was the first film sponsored by Ecologistics and we are very proud of being listed in the credits. “It has been a wonderful experience partnering with Brittany App on this project,” said Ecologistics CEO Stacey Hunt. “Not only is she a talented photographer and filmmaker, but she’s a heck of a lot of fun.” Brittany was the technical adviser and a judge for the 2022 Carrizo Plain Photography Contest sponsored by Ecologistics and The Coastal Awakening.
