Bioneers UPRISING – November 4
Tickets are now on sale for Central Coast Bioneers 2017, which will be held 9am to 5pm, Saturday, November 4 at the SLO Guild Hall, 2880 Broad Street in San Luis Obispo. Featured will be the following keynote talks from the National Bioneers Conference, held October 20-22, 2017 in San Rafael:
Amy Goodman – Democracy Now! Covering the Movements in Changing America
Suzanne Simard – Lessons from the Forest: How Trees Communicate and Help Each Other
Heather McGhee – A New “We the People” for a Sustainable Future
Jeremy Narby – Beyond the Anthropo-Scene
John Wick & Calla Rose Ostrander – Carbon Farming (followed by local speaker Tim LaSalle, Professor Emeritus of Cal Pol and Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Regenerative Agriculture Initiative, CSU Chico, focused on regenerating soils and drawing down atmospheric CO2 levels).
Mariel Nanasi – Truth to Power: Taking on Coal & Nuclear Domination (followed by local speaker April Price, Renewable Energy & Efficiency Specialist for Santa Barbara’s Community Environmental Council, who will report on the CEC’s ongoing efforts on a coalition to move forward 100% renewable energy goals in the San Luis Obispo-Santa-Barbara-Ventura region).
Exhibitors will be on hand in the grove. The Volumes of Pleasure bookstore will return and lunch will be catered by Javed Kabob Paradise.
