Calling all cooks to Blue C Community Garden’s Vegetable Soup Cookoff

Think you have the best vegetable soup recipe? Ready to put your soup where your mouth is? The Blue C Community Garden is hosting a vegetable soup cook-off on Saturday, September 19 from 1-3 pm at the garden, 1968 11th Street in Los Osos.  Bring at least two quarts of cooked soup to be reheated on a bank of camp stoves for tasting by the audience panel of judges, including Celia Alfirevic, of Celia’s Garden Café, and Violet and Aaron of Native Herbs & Honey. Rules are: Competitors must have grown at least two of the ingredients used in their soup themselves. The soup must be vegetarian and made of organic ingredients. Free to attend, fun, good food, music – a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon in the garden.
