Landon Peppel is the Deputy Director of Conservation and Restoration Programs for The Wildlands Conservancy (TWC), the largest nonprofit nature preserve system in the American West. With a background as a biologist, preserve manager, and conservation strategist, Landon has helped lead major land protection efforts across the region. His work supports the implementation of California’s 30×30 initiative through durable land acquisition, native species rewilding, and large-scale ecological restoration.

His projects have included reintroducing tule elk, restoring salmon habitat, and protecting critical wildlife corridors. He brings both practical experience and a visionary perspective to the urgent work of preserving biodiversity in a changing climate.

Landon holds a B.A. in Biology from St. Olaf College and an M.S. in Land Resources and Environmental Science from Montana State University.
