Great ready for Climate Strike Week
Organizations throughout the county are planning activities for the Global Climate Strike. Get these events on your calendar. All are free:
Sept. 18, 7-9 pm Copeland Pavilion, 3rd Floor, French Hospital, join members of the Sierra Club, Santa Lucia Chapter’s Executive Committee for an exploration of how we can attain the goals of social justice and human rights while securing environmental protections and a sustainable future for the planet through the creation of A Just and Equitable National Climate Platform.
Sept. 19, 6pm SLO Farmer’s Market, Electric Vehicle Showcase as part of National Drive Electric Week presented by the SLO Climate Coalition.
Sept. 20, SLO Library 5:00 pm doors open, film at 5:30 – Sierra Club is sponsoring a showing of An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, the sequel to An Inconvenient Truth. Speaker: Dr. Shahir Masri.
Sept. 20, School Climate Strikes – Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, Atascadero, Templeton and Paso Robles High School students will rise for climate and strike.
Sept. 21, 9am to noon, Creeks to Coast Clean Up. Volunteer at one of nearly 50 sites. More info at the ECOSLO web site. https://ecoslo.org/creeks-to-coast/
Sept. 25, 7-830 pm, SLO Library – Climate Crisis Local Solutions Town Hall Panel presented by SLO Surfrider. Five expert speakers, five minutes each, and 45-minute Q&A with audience. Focus on immediate and near-term actions we can take to reduce the impacts of climate change locally and around the world. Learn about programs already in place and more in the planning stages. Sept. 27, 5-7pm at the SLO Courthouse, 1050 Monterey St., Global Climate Strike rally and march. We rise for climate, jobs and justice.

Hi, Johanna. Sorry, I didn’t see your question in time. The organizers are doing a weekly climate strike every Friday at 11:00 in front of the County offices on Monterey and Santa Rosa.
