Green home tour is this year’s field trip
For those of you thinking about decarbonizing your home or business, this year’s Central Coast Bioneers Pre-Conference Field Trip is your ticket. This year’s tour, which will take place on Thursday, October 3rd from 2-4:30, will give you an inside look at all-electric green buildings that are energy efficient and powered completely or in part with renewable energy. The tour will cover one commercial building and three residential projects in San Luis Obispo.
The tour will start out at a 24,000 square foot office building that has earned LEED Silver Certification for its all-electric heat pump system, solar panels and drought-tolerant landscaping. From there, participants will board Ride-On vans to proceed to three residential units in various phases of remodel to reduce their carbon footprints.
The tour is hosted by Balance Green Consulting and Cairn Collaborative Design-Build, in conjunction with Tri-Counties Regional Energy Network. For more information and tickets go to the Central Coast Bioneers web site.
