SLO Down Cancer to be featured on KCBX’s Central Coast Voices October 8
Ecologistics’ health justice initiative SLO Down Cancer will be the subject of Central Coast Voices, airing on KCBX from 1-2 pm on Thursday, October 8. Ecologistics CEO Stacey Hunt will discuss the health study that led to the initiative, which found a large increase in melanoma, breast cancer, thyroid cancer and childhood leukemia in certain areas of the county in the last 30 years. She will be joined on the show by Dr. Ahmad Nooristani of the SLO Noor Clinic, which will accept county residents for screening who have no insurance, and Eloisa Medina, the Bilingual Lay Patient Navigator at Hearst Cancer Resource Center with French Hospital.
Central Coast Voices addresses the many ramifications of change and how today’s choices will affect tomorrow’s community. This program is an extension and production of “Action for Healthy Communities” an organization committed to identifying and carrying out projects that will improve the quality of life in San Luis Obispo County.
