Grants and gifts in the news
Our sponsored organizations have been working hard to get funding for their projects, and that hard work is paying off!
Wi Yone Plastik has received two awards totaling $25,000 and a private donation of $9,220 for their work in Sierra Leone implementing community level, female-run plastic collection services that work in conjunction with local recycling centers to convert plastic waste into building materials.
SLO Climate Coalition has received a Miossi Charitable Trust grant to assist with their work in championing high impact regional climate solutions. The Coalition’s many projects include Uniting the Central Coast for Action, Micro-Community Collaboratives, SLO Green Transportation and Better Buildings SLO.
Protect Scenic 101 has received a legacy gift of $6,700 from the estate of James Lopes to further their work in enhancing the scenic view along Highway 101 by facilitating retiring billboards within the Highway 101 view corridor in the unincorporated areas of San Luis Obispo County, CA.
Congratulations!
