Community Roots Project/R.A.C.E. Matters collaboration

COMMUNITY ROOTS PROJECT is a sponsored organization of Ecologistics. We are a group of BIPOC & Queer creatives fostering community through action and mixed media storytelling. Through education and uplifting the lives of marginalized groups we can foster connection within the community and inspire action.

Community Roots Project had the honor of working with R.A.C.E. Matters to build the web experience for BELONGING 2021  We also created the video content for “WE ARE HERE,” an exhibition of Black portraits of community members who speak their individual and collective truths as creatives, as activists, as entrepreneurs, as parents, as community members. It was such a wonderful experience working side by side photographer Eric Deshawn Lerma, former San Luis Obispo resident and Cuesta College student and craft such an important exhibit that was on display in Downtown SLO throughout the summer.

If you missed it or would like to experience it in a whole new way, the Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery at Cuesta College will be hosting the “WE ARE HERE” exhibit for a limited time in October.
