Everybody Reads SLO dishes out the books!

Ecologistics sponsored organization Everybody Reads SLO, headed up by Dan and Liz Krieger and their dedicated band of Book Angels, made good use of a generous grant from the Miossi Charitable Trust.  A carload of books was sent to Shandon Elementary School.  The shipment included 130 Spanish-English picture books, plus books on animals, life cycles, plants, planets, DogMan, graphic novels, biographies and Latinx easy fiction.

Not to be left out, Amy Loewen, a 6th-7th grade teacher at Lillian Larson Elementary School in San Miguel,   spent five hours at the Kreigers selecting two carloads of books for her students.  The books included attractive, well reviewed, popular fiction hardbacks for the school library, hundreds of books to give to the school families, fiction and nonfiction for kindergarten through 8th grade and a class set of 25 copies of Esperanza Rising for the fifth grade.

Thank you, Dan and Liz and the Book Angels!  Donations to Everybody Reads SLO for the purchase of more books for schools in disadvantaged neighborhoods can be made here.
