The Bioneers are back! Three-part series of 2015 Bioneers Plenaries to be shown at the Palm Theatre

Destiny Arts Youth Performance Company Performing at Bioneers Conference

Central Coast Bioneers is bringing three Best of Bioneers programs on three consecutive Saturdays to the Palm Theatre from 9 am to 1 pm, beginning January 30.

Each program will feature Bioneers keynote speakers from the 2015 National Conference, music and entertainment, a youth leadership address and a community discussion.

Day 1, Saturday January 30 Program

The event will open with drumming by Deb Lane and Afia Walking Tree, followed by opening addresses of Bioneers founders Kenny Ausubel and Nina Simons. Brower Youth Award Winner Junior Walk with talk about the Appalachian resistance to the coal mining industry. Destiny Arts Youth Performance Company will perform. The three featured plenary talks will be:

  • Sister Simone Campbell, poet, social justice attorney and faith-based progressive activist on Community: Healing for the 21st Century
  • Kim Stanley Robinson, visionary science fiction writer on Rethinking Our Relationship to the Biosphere: A Utopian Vision of a New Economic Paradigm
  • Paul Hawken, thought leader, activist and entrepreneur on Project Drawdown, a collection of NGOs, academics, scholars, scientists, businesses and government agencies working on solutions to mitigate carbon emissions.

Doors open at 8:45 am. Tickets are $20 per person, available at Central Coast Bioneers or at the door. See you in Screen 1!
