Two Ecologistics-sponsored organizations receive DEI grants

Congratulations to Central Coast Coalition for Undocumented Student Success and R.A.C.E. Matters SLO for being selected as recipients of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion grants for their work in San Luis Obispo.

Central Coast Coalition for Undocumented Student Success (CCC-USS) is a collective of advocates and educators that challenges anti-immigrant and oppressive ideologies, institutional practices, and everyday actions that threaten undocumented and historically marginalized communities.  CCC-USS will receive $10,200 for its Undocu-Community Summit, to be held in the fall of 2021.

R.A.C.E. Matters is a group of local volunteers working together to be stewards of change regarding race relations.  The acronym stands for Responsibility, Action, Compassion, and Education.  The organization’s mission is to engage the community in matters of racial justice through dialogue, workshops, and direct action, and to provide space for marginalized groups to be heard.  R.A.C.E. Matters will receive $32,600 for its 2021 “Belonging 2021” event, a multimedia arts experience centered on Black community, inclusion, and action for all.
