He is a scholar-activist in the global climate justice movement, the center of the struggle for achieving social justice and radical social change in the 21st century. A lot of his work is published at www.resilience.org. He is an active member of Transition US, Democratic Socialists of America, System Change Not Climate Change, 350.org, the Green Party of California, Extinction Rebellion, and Symbiosis Revolution.  Central Coast Bioneers may remember John, who, with his students, was a keynote speaker at the 2014 Conference on the Global Youth Climate Justice Movement at the Warsaw COP 19.
