Save the Date for the 2018 Carrizo Colloquium

The 4th Carrizo Colloquium will take place Friday, May 11 at the San Luis Obispo Library Community Room, 995 Palm from 9 am to 3 pm.  The morning session on Science on the Carrizo Plain will feature speakers on giant kangaroo rats, the vegetation community, minerology results of the Soda Lake sediments, results of a Pronghorn collaring study and factors affecting seedling recruitment of Atriplex polycarpa (saltbush).  The afternoon session will focus on Carrizo Plain Conservation and Resource Management and will feature talks on the California Valley lot acquisition program, the Cannabis ordinance, Central Coast bats, and an increasing presence of giant kangaroo rats on lands north of Highway 58.   The event is free and includes a light breakfast and lunch.  For more information or to register, go to www.carrizocolloquium.org.
